Canada’s Newest Country Music Sweetheart
Madison Fitzpatrick
Kate Todd is perhaps best known by today’s youth for her role as Lily Randall on the Family Channel’s Radio Free Roscoe and as Sally in Life With Derek. She is also recognized for her role as Erica in My Babysitter’s a Vampire. Although 27-year-old Todd is talented on the small screen, this Canadian girl from Innisfil, Ontario is also a rising international country singer and songwriter.
Todd won Best New Album at the Radio Nation Music Awards in 2012 for her debut album “Finding My Way”, Todd says, “My debut album was a labour of love in the making. Those songs were written at different periods and places throughout my life. When we finished recording and mastering the tracks, I felt we had something here and my only hope was that people would connect with and enjoy my music. For “Finding My Way” to be recognized as Best New Album was a bonus and an incredible honour.”
Following the immense success of her first album, Todd is releasing a fresh new album titled “Anywhere With You”, “This album has been such an amazing experience from the get go. Road-tripping to Nashville, meeting and writing at the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) headquarters with today’s top writers and then the pleasure of performing at the legendary Bluebird Cafe. I wanted to rush back home, take that whole vibe and recapture it on disc and I think we've managed to nail it.”
At a recent show at the Spice Lounge in Mississauga, Todd sang some of her new songs for an eager audience. One fan described her new tunes as ‘up-beat’.
Todd says she is “totally stoked” to share her experiences with her fans through these new songs.

Todd is sharing much more than her music. Not only will fans be able to pre-order the new album online and access merchandise such as signed CDs,DVDs
and guitars but they will have the opportunity to share some of her life’s passions. Fan contest prizes will include one-on-one lessons with Todd and even having her prepare her ‘hometown country meal’ for one lucky fan and and his or her friends.
Todd’s manager, Peter Linseman is an accomplished Canadian music writer and producer.  He says his vision for Todd in the near future will always be a collective one, knowing he is working with someone who is “so smart and personable that you want to get her input and work closely with her on everything”.

Linseman says, “I know we are going to establish Kate Todd as the next 'it girl' in country music. Signing to eOne Music, the largest indie record label in the world, is an indication of this movement. Kate has it all and with the impressive collection of songs/ productions on her sophomore album "Anywhere With You", there is no stopping the revolution.”
Todd has been busy focusing on promoting her sophomore album  but when asked if she sees herself back on TV anytime soon she teases, “I have enjoyed each set I've had the pleasure to have worked on so, if the right project were to come along…”
